Despite recent thoughts of the iPhone killing iPod click wheel gaming, Apple and Gameloft S.A. now bring you the popular card game, Uno, for the iPod. Coming in at 60.1 MB, this $4.99 game currently has a 4/5 star rating in the iTunes store and looks pretty great. The preview shows rich colors, cool game play effects, and an easy to understand interface. It also supports multiplayer.
Announcements like this make it even harder to tell the future of the iPod. If Apple were planning on moving to all touch based iPods, why would they still release new click wheel games? This could be a sign that Apple still sees a place for the original interface of the iPod in the future. Either that, or they just want to rake in as much money as possible. I’m going to go with the latter. What do you think?
